HR Interns – Fall 2023

Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from credentialed and experienced HR professionals.  

This position is Part-Time. Interns must be able to complete a semester internship for 3 Academic Credits. Interns may be  considered for regular full-time and part-time opportunities after completion of their internship. 

Interns will assist with:  

  • Performing recruitment activities such as creating job postings, reviewing applicants and scheduling interviews
  • Compiling new hire kits; creating required workplace poster kits; benefits kits and other types of employee packages
  • Drafting and delivering employee notifications for new hires and terminations
  • Documentation of standard internal operating procedures and processes
  • Preparing for and participating in HR audits
  • The administration of employee record-keeping and record-keeping systems
  • Employee surveys and behavioral based assessments
  • Promoting, organizing, and preparing for events, meetings, webinars or Continuing Professional Education (CPE) seminars
  • Interns may also support CWS at business meetings and events on Long Island or virtually

Qualified candidates will typically:  

  • Be enrolled in college pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related field 
  • Have 1 year of related work experience in an office setting or customer service position preferred Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be detailed oriented 
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), Adobe Acrobat, Facebook, LinkedIn and other Social Media platforms 
  • Be bilingual in Spanish and English (strongly preferred); with the ability to read and write in both languages.

Work Location: 330 Motor Parkway, Suite 303, Hauppauge, NY with occasional visits onsite with clients. 

Work Schedule: Part-time between the hours of 8:30am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Interns must work between 12-20 hours per  week.  

Compensation: This is a paid opportunity at $16.00 per hour. Interns must be able to complete a semester internship for  3 Academic Credits.
